Our Story & More

WHY we are here…

1. To equip the body of Christ for the work of ministry
When Apostle Allan and Pastor Janine were called by God to plant the church, God gave them Ephesians 4v11-12. This scripture is our foundation and purpose for being.

2. To teach His people to prosper
A number of years later, God commanded Apostle Allan, “Teach my people to prosper.” This instruction has become an integral part of the ministry.

WHAT we believe…

THE SCRIPTURES:

The Bible is the inspired word of God, the product of Holy Men of old who spoke and wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. The New Covenant as recorded in the New Testament, we accept as our infallible guide in matters pertaining to conduct and doctrine.
(2 Tim 3:16, 1 Thess 2:13, 2 Pet 1:21)

THE GODHEAD:

Our God is One, but manifested in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, being co-equal.
God the Father is greater than all, the Source of the Word (Logos) and the Begetter.
(John 14:28, John 16:28, John 1:14)
The Son is the Word flesh-covered, the One Begotten, and has existed with the Father from the beginning.
(John 1:1, John 1:18, John 1:14)
The Holy Spirit proceeds forth from both the Father and the Son and is eternal.
(John 15:26)

MAN, HIS FALL AND REDEMPTION:

Man is a created being, made in the likeness and image of God, but through Adam’s transgression and fall, sin came into the world. “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” “As it is written, there is none righteous, no not one.” Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was manifested to undo the work of the devil and gave His life and shed His blood to redeem and restore man back to God.
(Rom 5:12, Rom 3:10, 1 John 3:8)
Salvation is a gift from God to man, separate from the works and the law, and is made operative by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, producing works acceptable to God.
(Eph 2:8)

ETERNAL LIFE AND NEW BIRTH:

Man’s first step toward salvation is Godly sorrow that worketh repentance. The new birth is necessary to all men, and when fulfilled, produces eternal life.
(2 Cor 7:10, 1 John 5:12, John 3:3-5)

WATER BAPTISM:

Baptism in water is by immersion and is a direct commandment of our Lord, and is for believers only. The ordinance is a symbol of the Christian’s identification with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection.
(Matt 28:19, Rom 6:4, Col 2:12, Acts 8:36-39)
The following recommendation regarding the Water Baptismal formula is adopted, to with:
“On the confession of your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and by His authority, I baptise you in the name of the Father, Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.”

BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT:

The Baptism in the Holy Spirit and Fire is a gift from God as promised by the Lord Jesus Christ to all believers in this dispensation and is received subsequent to the new birth. This experience is accompanied by the initial evidence of the speaking in other tongues as the Holy Spirit Himself gives utterance.
(Matt 3:11, John 14:16-17, Acts 1:8, Acts 2:38-39,
Acts 19:1-7, Acts 2:4)

SANCTIFICATION:

The Bible teaches that without Holiness no man can see the Lord. We believe in the doctrine of Sanctification as a definite, yet progressive work of grace, commencing at the time of regeneration and continuing until the consummation of Salvation.
(Heb 12:14, 1 Thess 5:23, 2 Pet 3:18, 2 Cor 3:18,
Phil 3:12-14, 1 Cor 1:30)

DIVINE HEALING:

Healing is for physical ills of the human body and is wrought by the power of God through the prayer of faith, of the laying on of hands. It is provided for in Christ’s redemption for us, and it is the privilege of every member of the church today.
(Mark 16:18, James 5:14-15, 1 Pet 2:24, Matt 8:17,
Isa 53:4-5)

RESURRECTION OF THE JUST AND THE RETURN OF OUR LORD:

The angels said, “This same Jesus shall so come in like manner.” His coming is imminent. When He comes, “The dead in Christ shall rise first; then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air.”
(Act 1:1-11, 1 Thess 4:16-17)
Following the tribulation, He shall return to earth, as King of Kings, and the Lord of Lords and together with His saints, who shall be kings and priests, He shall reign a thousand years.
(Rev 20:6)

HELL AND ETERNAL RETRIBUTION:

The one who physically dies in his sins without Christ is hopelessly and eternally lost in the lake of fire and, therefore, has no further opportunity of hearing the Gospel or for repentance. The lake of fire is literal. The terms “eternal” and “everlasting” used in describing the duration of the punishment of the damned in the lake of fire, carry the same thought and meaning of endless existence as used in noting the duration of joy and ecstasy in the saints in the presence of God.
(Heb 9:27, Rev 19:20)

THE ORDINANCE OF THE LORD’S SUPPER:

The ordinance of the Lord’s supper shall be observed regularly as enjoyed in the Scriptures
(Luke 22:19-20, 1 Cor 11:23-26)

Meet Our Pastors

Apostle Allan and Pastor Janine Bagg were commissioned by God to teach His uncompromised word soon after committing their lives to Him at Christian Family Church Johannesburg. Pastor Janine had been miraculously healed of a terrible disease, an event that convinced them that God’s word is true. As they passionately pursued this new relationship they have seen God deliver them from extreme debt and despite doctors having declared them infertile, bless them with 3 children; Brittany, Michaela, and Joshua. Having experienced a miraculous healing in Janine, they pursued God and His word with a passion that soon saw their calling revealed and they began pastoring under the ministry of Apostle Theo and Dr Beverly Wolmarans. In a very short time their call to Cape Town was revealed and confirmed, in January 1994, The Bay Christian Family Church was birthed in Somerset West.. Starting from humble beginnings in a borrowed church building, The Bay Christian Family Church has rapidly expanded its foothold in the Helderberg basin reaching out to all of Cape Town and even across the mountain to the Overberg. God’s vision was not limited to Cape Town only and through the introduction of technology we now have campuses linking with us every Sunday from around the world. As founding pastors, Allan and Janine have never strayed from teaching the uncompromised word of God. Through their faith in God and their commitment to His commission, The Bay Christian Family Church and their own personal lives have seen the favour, blessing, and miracles of God. It is the God-given vision of these founding pastors to reach the whole of Cape Town and anywhere in the world where God calls them to go. So if you are reading this and we are not close to you yet, we may simply be a prayer away.

Apostle Allan

“Wisdom is the principal thing”, this statement by Solomon is one of the core drivers of Allan Bagg in his pursuit of God and the mysteries of God’s Kingdom.
As an Apostle to the body of Christ, his endeavours for God are multifaceted beginning with planting The Bay Christian Family Church in Cape Town, planting multiple campuses, raising sons of faith to plant churches internationally, hosting his own television program called Wisdom for Life, serving on the board of Kenneth Copeland Ministries and Joyce Meyers Ministries, as well as traveling and speaking internationally.

Married to his beautiful wife, Janine, Allan has 3 children, who are evidence in themselves of God’s miraculous power working in their lives as doctors had declared them infertile.
Having learnt of God’s healing power personally, God continued to reveal Himself to Allan in many different ways, key to these being the foundations of faith, prosperity, covenant, and love Manifesting the full function of the Kingdom of God. This relational teaching that God used to impart His truth to Allan, now marks his dynamic and powerful teaching as not simply theoretical but practical.

Having been called to equip the saints for the work of ministry, Allan, through his dynamic and inspirational teaching inspires the body of Christ, whether they are called to be small group leaders, pastors or Kingdom Financiers to have the God kind of faith and accomplish all God has called them to do.

Pastor Janine

Janine, together with her husband Apostle Allan Bagg, co-founded The Bay Christian Family Church in January 1994.
After receiving dramatic healing from fibrous dysplasia, a disease doctors said there was no cure for, Pastor Janine has continued pursuing the supernatural in every area of her life, including that of having children, something the doctors also said could not happen for her.

As a loving and passionate mother, Pastor Janine has a deep desire to see women rise up in the things of God to fulfill their true call and destiny. Through her inspirational teaching, she inspires women from all walks of life to come together under the Word of God and do life together.

Among her many passions, worship is outstanding, and her influence and leadership of The Bay Worship has seen them rise from grass roots to a team that can usher in the presence of God in a powerful and dynamic way that inspires men and women to a level of intimacy and faith that invokes the miraculous.

Not only hearers of the word but doers of the word.
